Entrepreneur and Former CEO Tiburon Technologies
Martin Tarr has been an entrepreneur for over 40 years. Before entering high school, he was a member of International Traders importing wind chimes from Taiwan and wood carvings from Africa. While balancing high school academics and athletics he found the time to breed and sell earthworms, maintaining inventory levels of over 100,000 Canadian night crawlers at a time. Accepted into Cleveland Sate’s Computer and Information Science program, Martin established a Delaware Corporation providing computer consulting and information services to clients across North America by the age of 23.
As CEO of Tiburon Technologies, Martin grew the company organically and by acquisition acquiring companies in North America and Europe. His responsibilities included both short-term and long-term strategic goals and management of day-to-day operations. Recognized by many software companies and industry analysts as an IBM mainframe expert, Tiburon developed automated software technology that would modernize aging mainframe legacy systems by converting application portfolio’s to a more modern technology by IBM, Oracle or Microsoft.
Hundreds of clients such as ADP Payroll, State Street Bank, Wendy’s, County of Marin and others were able to implement the latest enterprise technology, and in some cases, reduce their cost by over 90%.
Martin’s education includes Cleveland State University Bachelor of Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Birthing of Giants, and numerous technical and management seminars.
Martin resides in Cleveland, OH with his wife Ann, two children, and two grandchildren.
