John Moore - Crew Chief
Native Clevelander, endurance athlete, former tank mechanic in the Marine Corps. Lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife and two teenage children. John and Len have completed numerous 24-hour mountain bike races, ultra marathons, and Ironman triathlons together. John has held senior management positions at such companies as Cisco and Juniper Networks and currently works at Hewlett Packard.
Ed Cepulis - Driver and Navigator
Native Clevelander lives with his wife and three children in Boulder, Colorado. Ed is a “weekend warrior” athlete who enjoys biking, hiking, and skiing. He has been mountain biking with Len and crew chief John Moore for over 15 years, and has participated in several 24-hour mountain bike races and other similar endurance events. He introduced the Hopecam team to bike mechanic Wayne Smith. Ed works in the high tech industry, where he has held marketing and sales leadership roles for more than twenty years.
Brian Daum - Driver and Navigator
Pittsburgh native, now living with his wife and two children in Reston, Virginia. Brian has been a competitive swimmer since his childhood, swimming on his high school’s state championship team, on Lehigh University’s college team, and now with the Reston Masters Swim Team. He is also an avid cyclist and lacrosse coach. Brian has spent the past twenty years in executive-level financial positions with fast-growth public and privately held companies, including his most recent position as CFO/COO of Savi Technologies Inc.
Charlly Enroth - Massage Therapist
Charlly, recently retired as President of the Advanced Massage Center, Arlington, VA, is a neuromuscular massage therapist specializing in advanced massage modalities and sports massage protocols. Most recently, he and his AMC staff worked with Matt Centrowicz, Jr., U.S.A. Olympic Gold Medalist runner in 1,500M and Kerri Gallagher, the #3 U.S.A woman runner in 1,500M. Charlly has been practicing for 11 years while delivering more than 10,000 hours of massage across a spectrum of sports including cycling, enduro sports, cross fit training and weight lifting. He is a serial entrepreneur having started and grown companies in the healthcare and IT space since 1982.
Matt Forkas - Video and Social Media Coordinator
Matt Forkas graduated Stetson University in 2015 and has worked in the multifamily apartment industry as a leasing and property management professional at Mill Creek Property trust between 2015-2017. Matt is the founder of a snack food company that produces a product called “The Mix”. He joins our team as videographer and social media – content coordinator using his skills as a digital arts and business major in college.
Steve Gurney - Driver and Blogger
Native Washingtonian, now living with his wife and two children in Reston, Virginia, Steve is a cyclist and co-founder of the Reston Town Center Grand Prix Bicycle Race. Steve participates regularly in a variety of master’s-level sports, including cycling, swimming, rowing, snowboarding, and triathlons. He organized the team’s first 500-mile training ride in Oceanside in March 2012. Steve was a longtime writer for the Washington Post, and in 1990 he created the Guide to Retirement Living SourceBook, a publication to help people care for aging family members. He’s spent his life working with nonprofit boards and regional and national organizations on aging to help maximize their exposure and help find solutions to their challenges.
Matt Hersh - Massage Therapist
Matt Hersh is a holistic massage therapist that focuses on performance and mobility. He has had a passion for giving back his whole life. Matt is currently the Marketing Director for Potomac Massage Training Institute, the oldest and largest non-profit massage school in the country. As a massage therapist Matt works with the University of Maryland Terrapins' football team and has private clients.
Burton Kloster - Driver and Navigator
Burton is an avid skier, cyclist and runner with a passion to support children, orphans and others who are in need. He and his wife Kim have lived in Northern Virginia for the past 33 years and have two children, Kelly Kloster Hon of Del Mar, California, and C. Bryan Kloster of Annandale, VA. Burton spent 22 years with IBM in various sales leadership capacities, and most recently with Deloitte Digital and Capgemini Digital.
Ozzie Reyes-Chica, Assistant Crew Chief
Ozzie lives in The Woodlands, Texas with his wife Saysha and their two sons, Evan (11) and Lucas (5). He is an executive with Accenture, LLP. Ozzie has been involved with Hopecam since he first met Len just after Len completed his first RAAM. Ozzie is also an endurance athlete. When he is not watching one of his son's baseball or soccer games you can find Ozzie enjoying mountain biking, road cycling, running or crossfitting.
Wayne Smith - Bike Mechanic (“The Wrench”)
Originally from Lake Tahoe, California, and chief mechanic at Boulder Full Cycle Bike Shop. Wayne has been working on bikes for twelve years and jumped at the opportunity to do any job at 15 miles per hour. You will find him playing Ultimate Frisbee, or skiing, or doing what he can to travel—which made RAAM a good fit. Wayne enjoys a good road trip and has supported the University of Colorado Bike Team during numerous competitions.
Brandon Snow - Medic – Driver - Chef
Brandon is an army veteran where he specialized as an air medic, one of the few to accompany the air national guard that supports rescue missions. After retiring from the Armed Services, he was a paramedic fire fighter for many years before studying in culinary school at working in prestigious restaurants along the east coast. Brandon is now owner of Catered Solutions and is a valued member of our crew as the designated “unicorn – utility fielder.”
