Pre-Race Day Before RAAM

Last night Len and his crew paused to take a group photo.  You can leave Len and his crew messages of support here during the 12 days of RAAM: Leave Len & his Crew Messages

Today was a busy day with RAAM inspections, and we passed all the inspections thanks to a great crew making sure that every 't' was crossed!  Our crew member Ozzie turned in 1 inch of forms required for the race as well.  Crew Chief John Moore is keeping his hair neat on the road with a fresh buzzcut!

Len Forkas attended the RAAM Press Conference this morning with a few of the fellow RAAM competitors.  You can watch the Facebook Live video on our Race For Hope Facebook Feed.  During the conference Len met with Pete Penseyres - he was the winner of RAAM, in 1984 and 1986 and set a world record in 8 days, 9 hours, and 47 minutes. Pete held the RAAM record for 20 years (8 days) until 2014.  Andre Kajlich - he will be racing across America on an all hand crank bicycle without legs! Christoph Strasser - a 3 time RAAM winner and RAAM record holder - 7 days 20 hours, and he set a new record March 2015 riding 556 miles in 24 hours! And Grandpa Arvid who won his age category in RAAM 2008 and he holds Guinness World Record for the fastest bicycle crossing of Canada (6040km) in 2011 (13 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes).
