Into the high plains, Len pedals through the tiny town of Kim, named after the book by Rudyard Kipling. On the open road ahead, Len is thinking of 11 year-old KoriRae from Westminster, Colorado in the northern part of the state. Thank you to Bernstein for their support of Hopecam at TS21. KoriRae's parent Jennifer writes:
"KoriRae was first diagnosed with Leukemia in January 2007. KoriRae is now going to a children's hospital in Philadelphia for a new treatment still in trial called immunotherapy. KoriRae is the most beautiful, loving, free spirited, patient, huge hearted, funny, happy, sweet little girl ever. She never lets anything bring her down and always has a big bright smile on her adorable face. Even though spending most her life in the hospital she never gives up and never stops fighting. She is truly a hero and the one who keeps us going. Thank you so much."
Kim is a small, statuary town with a population of 67 people. It has a post office that has been in operation since 1917, and was incorporated in 1974. The Kim Outpost is the only store for miles around.
