Meet Axl: A Story of Joy, Strength & Connection

As Len Forkas continues his 183 Miles of Hope journey, he dedicates his fourth marathon to Axl, whose joyful spirit and love of learning remind us how powerful connection can be for a child facing cancer.

Axl is a fun-loving 6-year-old with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He loves building with LEGOs, playing with Transformers, and anything that keeps his imagination and little hands busy.

One of Axl's biggest recent highlights? Getting his very own laptop through Hopecam! He's especially excited because even his older brother and sister don't have one!

While undergoing treatment for Wilms tumor, a type of childhood kidney cancer, Axl has had to spend time away from school and his classmates. But thanks to Hopecam, he can continue learning, seeing familiar faces, and staying connected to the friends and classroom community he loves.

For Axl, his Hopecam laptop is more than just a computer — it's a connection to the everyday moments of childhood, helping him feel included even when he can't physically be at school. Axl's story reminds us that even during the most difficult times, a little connection can bring a lot of joy.

Through Hopecam, children like Axl can continue being part of their classrooms, friendships, and communities throughout cancer treatment.
