Medical Teams

Oncology medical teams are the first and most critical support system for families with new pediatric cancer diagnoses, as you are their first source of information and care. For kids of every age who struggle with social isolation when they’re cut off from classmates during treatment, you can also provide a path to connection through Hopecam, which links kids and classmates via teleconferencing—technology that also opens doors to telehealth

All we need to get started is your referral, and then we handle the rest: Hopecam works with families and schools to provide and set up—at no expense—all of the necessary webcams, computers and tablets, and Internet access. The results are powerful: Families repeatedly tell us that their child’s Hopecam connection improved their attitude during treatment, relieved their anxiety before and during medical procedures, helped their child’s friends better understand what he/she is going through, and reminded their child that their classmates care.

Being able to offer a child and family the opportunity to stay connected to their classmates after a diagnosis of cancer is truly extraordinary. For kids and teens, being at school and seeing their classmates and teachers is their norm and having a means to provide a little bit of normalcy during a time that is anything but normal is amazing. Thank you to Hopecam for making this happen for our patients and families.
