Hopecam's 2022 Annual 5K

We raised over $63,000 to help more kids with cancer connect to their worlds!

Thank you to everyone that participated in our 22nd Annual Hopecam 5K - both in person and virtually. It was a beautiful morning and the rain stayed away. There were plenty of activities at our 5K; Alpacas, a Rock Climbing Wall, a Bouncy House, a DJ, Face Painting, Jazzercise, Princesses and much more! Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers - we couldn’t do this without your help.

Congratulations to our team winners:

- Largest Team: Cooley

- Highest Fundraisers: Team Bishop Ireton

Cold Hard Truth

Our Founder, Len Forkas, recently published the book "Cold Hard Truth," about his life changing expedition to climb Mount Vinson, Antarctica. Every day climbing was specifically dedicated to Hopecam child. As Len says in his book, "The struggles I face on the mountain were nothing compared to their everyday ordeals."

In Cold Hard Truth, Len Forkas takes us on his journey to the bottom of the world to climb the unforgiving 16,050-foot mountain. Those who have accomplished this goal comprise an elite group, numbering only about 1,200 since the first expedition in 1966—far fewer than the more famous Mount Everest.

Your purchase of this book supports Hopecam in its mission and is greatly appreciated. Click the following link to purchase the book on Amazon at “Cold Hard Truth”.

Hopecam's Fall Dinner - POSTPONED

After speaking with our board and community we have decided to postpone Hopecam’s Fall Dinner at this time. Please know how deeply we regret not being able to gather in person and we hope to be able to get together soon.

In place of our Fall Dinner we will be holding a virtual Halloween 5K fundraiser so families and friends across the country can gather together safely and enjoy a fun way to raise money for so many children with cancer. Click here to check out our events page for Hopecam’s Halloween 5K details and registration information.

If you have purchased tickets or signed up to sponsor the event, we will be contacting you soon. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact: Brett Fox at brett@hopecam.org

Team Red Dragon Race Across America for Kids with Cancer

Race Across America (RAAM) starts on June 15th, 2021!  This year, Michael Davies-Hughes and his Team Red Dragon will be competing in RAAM for Hopecam!  RAAM is a 3,089 mile solo cross country bike race from Oceanside CA to Annapolis MD in 12 days! The race is widely regarded as the toughest test of endurance in the world (Outside magazine).

Michael's goal is to raise money for Hopecam to help connect more children to their classroom, friends, family and even their doctors via tele-health, while they are in cancer treatment.
